Why do clothes keep us warm?

You need:
two bottles, scarf or woolen cloth, thermometer, watch, hot water

Here we go:
Fill up two bottles with hot water and wrap on of them with a woollen cloth or scarf. Let the bottles sit there for about half an hour. Now check the water temperature. Is there a difference in water temperature between the two bottles? Can you explain the difference if there is one?
